A bunch of us will be in Cagayan de Oro City next month for PyCon PH.

PyCon PH is the biggest annual gathering of the developers and users of the Python programming language in the country. It’s an amazing conference organized by the community and for the community. We’re attending to meet the Philippine Python community and to share our own experiences in using Python at the PHL-Microsat program.

Benjie will be talking about solving real-world problems at the PHL-Microsat program using Python, from satellite operations to the production and distribution of satellite imagery, while Kim and I will be holding a workshop on satellite data processing using tools in Python’s geospatial ecosystem.

Find us at PyCon PH by our PHL-Microsat flight jackets or ping us on Twitter to learn more about Diwata-1, the PHL-Microsat program, geospatial data processing with Python, and how we work: @rukku, @BenjieJiao

Check out the full program at the PyCon PH site for more information.

The PHL Microsat Program aims to build, launch and effectively utilize micro-satellite technology for multispectral, high precision earth observation. It is a collaboration between Tohoku University, Hokkaido University, DOST Advanced Science and Technology Institute, and University of the Philippines — Diliman. It is funded by the DOST through PCIEERD.
